Last night I had the pleasure of getting the fabulous Ross family ready for The Jameson Empire Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London. An awards evening celebrating everything fabulous in film. On the cards for the girls was casual glamour with always a bit of creative sass thrown in.
Jane (Goldman), a film genius, a producer and writer, known for Kick-Ass, Kingsman and X-Men is someone who is always setting her own style especially for red carpet events. Her approach to fashion and trends is completely refreshing as she is totally unique. Her hair for the Empire awards was slightly more classic compared to her usual style. I preped the hair with Osis+ Blow & Go Thick (unfortunately discontinued now but Osis+ Upload is okay to use but there is a tendency to overload the hair. Blow & Go thick will truly be missed, CRY!) And then continued to blow dry the hair with volume and movement. The aim was for a more sleek look with hints and flicks (adding a nod to Jane’s day to day style.) After blowdrying I used my trusty go to Babyliss 38 mm Pro Ceramic Dial a Heat Tongs to give the finishing touches to the ends of the hair and around the face. To finish the style I used my go to hairspray of the moment Osis+ Elastic (it has a low level of hold but adds structure with out crisp and makes the hair shiny without too much gloss ((perfect for red carpet)) and Osis+ Session Label Silk Shine Cream to tame fly-aways. This product is so versatile, it truly is a kit essential. The product is lightweight, has a perfect amount of hold and even though the product is made for shine it has a matt finish so is, once again perfect for film or flash photography.
Honey (Jane and Jonathan’s daughter), is, like her mum Jane, fabulously experimental with her style and more importantly, is who she is. She decided to almost pay homage to Jane’s successful year last at the Empires and don a curly, textured crop ‘lob’. I preped the hair with a light weight thermal protector, Osis+ Flatliner. The heat protecter, aimed for straightening, I find is perfect for any prep before heat. The product is an extremely lightweight spray mist with out any hold or control. it has one purpose, to protect. I then whipped out my BaByliss 13 mm Pro Ceramic Dial-a-Heat Tong and curled the hair, starting for the nape of the head, all in one direction. I sprayed each section of hair with Osis+ Elastic before curling and left the whole head of curls to cool before shacking them out a little. I finished the look with a little more hairspray and and light mist of some shine spray.
Last but not least, Emily (Dean), fashion editor and red carpet queen was an absolute pleasure to ‘hair.’ Her flamboyantly cool personality and eye for all things fabulous was given the sexy, very on trend, big beach-y curls. I preped Emily’s hair with Osis GLAMINATION Plumping Shine Mousse into dry hair and dryed her hair with volume and bounce. and then used my Babyliss 32mm Pro Ceramic Dial a Heat Curling Tong taking large sections, spraying Osis+ Elastic before curling and leaving to cool before shaking out. I backcombed around the crown a little for some extra height and finished with some Osis+ Volume Up at the roots. I separated and shook certain sections out to add differing textures. GORGEOUS!
